Getting started in 5 minutes

  1. Choose Create account and complete signup with your school email. If your board is pending, ask the school administrator to enable it.
  2. Sign in and use Board setup to name your A/B-day courses and periods.
  3. On Teacher dashboard choose the lesson date and class. Fill in the four boxes.
  4. Choose Save only to publish without opening another tab. Choose Save & Show Board to save and open the selected lesson.
  5. Use My board for the live classroom display. Check the date and course before projecting.

Save, drafts and recovery

  1. Editing stores a draft in this browser; it does not publish your changes.
  2. Choose Save only. Wait for Board saved; the confirmation closes after five seconds.
  3. A save error leaves your draft in place. Restore draft recovers unpublished work on the same browser and account.
  4. If signed out, sign in again and return to the same date and class. Check the content, then save.

Copy a lesson to another class

  1. Find Also save to above the save buttons. All choices start unchecked.
  2. Select the receiving classes. Other-day courses use their next school day on or after the selected date.
  3. Review the confirmation: existing lessons on receiving dates will be replaced. Cancel if you are unsure.
  4. Save only keeps you in the editor; Save & Show Board also opens the source lesson.

Project the correct class

  1. Use Preview Board to inspect a selected date and class.
  2. Use My board for the live schedule. A preview date is not the current live class.
  3. On a manually selected board, Return to Live restores automatic class switching.
  4. Use the browser fullscreen control for a clean projector view.

Enable and manage classroom passes

  1. Enable classroom passes in Advanced Tools / pass preferences.
  2. Open Class rosters and preview an official attendance CSV for the correct class and period. Check district IDs, then confirm the replacement. Drops end current membership; previous passes remain in history.
  3. Issue from the classroom board, phone controls, or Hall Pass Kiosk. Choose Bathroom directly, or choose Nurse, Teacher, Administrator, Counselor or Staff and then a registered person.
  4. Receiving staff mark arrival and send the student back. The issuing teacher records the return to class. First/last 15-minute windows and school restrictions still apply.

When a pass cannot be issued

  1. Check classroom passes, current class and reviewed roster. The student must be on the active class roster.
  2. Check the school pass window and any schoolwide or teacher closure. A special-day assembly is not a class pass window.
  3. Check student and classroom active passes, the receiving person’s availability, and nurse capacity. An unreturned pass must be resolved before another is issued.
  4. A lost connection keeps the request identifier for a safe retry. Never substitute another student’s name or district ID.

Staff / kiosk

Use the shared Hall Pass Kiosk

  1. Open Hall Pass Kiosk from the menu. Every registered staff account can receive passes in its assigned category.
  2. Switch Accepting passes ON or OFF. Optional timed reopen is available. Closed destinations cannot receive a new pass, but existing students can still arrive and return.
  3. Use Expected & received for arrival and send-back. Use Issued from your classroom for the final return or cancellation of an unarrived pass.
  4. Nurses retain their capacity setting. Existing Nurse and Office PIN links open the same shared workflow.

Read-only role preview versus real editing

  1. Preview role (read-only) shows role menus using your own account’s data. It cannot save changes.
  2. Exit preview returns to administration.
  3. Open my editable teacher dashboard leaves preview and opens your own editable board. It does not impersonate another teacher.
  4. If a save says Role preview is read-only, use the editable-dashboard button first, then review and save your draft.

Enable an account and manage departments

  1. Open System admin → Accounts & boards. Verify the intended staff account before enabling its board.
  2. Open Departments to add, edit or remove department names.
  3. Permanent deletion is a separate destructive action. Do not use it to resolve a temporary sign-in problem.

School announcements and controls

  1. Use the school controls available to your authorized role.
  2. Review the audience and dates before publishing an announcement.
  3. System administrators can use Master schedule for reviewed date overrides; preview affected dates before saving.

Sign-in and password recovery

  1. Use your existing email and password on Log in.
  2. Use the password-recovery page if you cannot sign in. Check school email and spam for the recovery message.
  3. Never send your password in a help request. Ask the administrator to check account status if recovery is unavailable.

Available tools and remaining school decisions

  1. Shared kiosk, reviewed rosters, scoped student history, usage summaries, private saved-plan PDFs and the master schedule editor are released.
  2. Explicit department demos and Cody QA records are separate from ordinary staff, compliance and pass reporting.
  3. Official finals dates remain unchanged until the school supplies them. Review exported plans against the school’s required fields; a separate assessment field is not yet stored.
  4. Real-device and first-class workflow acceptance still matter. Report a specific problem with the page and action, without including passwords or confidential student notes.

Find authorized student history

  1. Choose a student on your current authorized roster; school administrators have school-appropriate broader access. Staff kiosk access alone does not grant schoolwide student history.
  2. Filter dates, issuing class, period, teacher or destination. Roster permission is checked on every search and access is audited.
  3. Unreturned passes show elapsed time and stay out of closed-duration averages. Counts are usage facts, not disciplinary findings.
  4. General history contains no visit reasons or confidential nurse/counseling notes.

Export saved daily plans and a clickable index

  1. Open Saved lesson plans. Choose an authorized teacher, date, day/week/month range, course or period.
  2. Open the daily PDF from already-saved Blackboard content. No duplicate lesson entry is needed.
  3. Open the clickable index PDF. Its links retain the saved versions and require an authorized Blackboard login each time.
  4. Teachers see their own plans; AIC coverage and school scope are enforced. System-admin demo review is explicit and separate. Review assessment evidence and district-required fields before submitting a plan.

Edit a special-day master schedule

  1. Load a date or template, then edit event title/type, start/end times and class slot. Add, duplicate, remove or reorder rows. Actual clock times determine chronology, so slot 4 may precede slot 3.
  2. Use explicit assembly, lunch, passing or special-event rows. Custom date overrides use the stated common lunch event for all lunch groups; review its times carefully.
  3. Before saving, add the other intended dates and preview every affected date. Confirm replacement and any intentional closure override. Other dates stay unchanged.
  4. Saved overrides feed board class selection, countdowns and pass windows. Templates do not change a school date until applied. Existing official calendars and the historical Fantroy demo remain preserved.

Help an account owner recover access

  1. Confirm the account owner’s identity, then select their active account in Account recovery.
  2. Create a 15-minute one-use link and share it privately with that owner. This control sends no email and never reveals the existing password.
  3. The password changes only when the owner chooses a new one. Older unused links are replaced, and other password sessions end after the change.
  4. Use Revoke unused links if a link should no longer work. Demo and QA account recovery is kept in explicit review.
